JCS LivestockFirst Furry Shipment to Qatar Successful
History was made last year when 8 elite pedigree alpacas were shipped to Qatar; the first such shipment to be made to the Persian State. Moving from the Melford Green Heard in Suffolk, the Alpacas were subject to a number of strict health checks, in order to avoid the possible transmission of Blue Tongue to the Gulf.
As part of the new UK Export Certification Partnership (DEFRA: industry partnership), a large part of the paperwork was being drawn up for the first time, and through working with Stanford Livestock and JCS, we were able the move the 8 alpacas to Qatar at the end of December last year. The Alpacas arrived safe and well, and as you can see from the picture here, they appear to be enjoying their new home!
