Endangered Species arrive in good shape
Spoon-billed Sandpipers are incredibly endangered and this shipment came in from Russia where they had been in quarantine to come to the UK as part of a captive breeding program for the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.
We're always proud to help endangered species into the country and these birds are very very rare. They came arrived in their own specially made crate and were treated as VIPs as they came to Heathrow, were vet checked and then we cleared them through customs so that they could continue their journey to the WWT's headquarters at Slimbridge.
